Meet Autumn: A Simple Act of Kindness That Reminded Us What Community Means

This holiday season, we’re incredibly grateful for an act of honesty that touched our entire Tremont Credit Union team.

Just before Thanksgiving, Autumn, a nurse from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, came into our Milton Branch & Headquarters after finding a Tremont Credit Union cash envelope outside. Inside was a receipt identifying the owner — a longtime TCU member and senior citizen. Without hesitation, she returned it, hoping it would make its way back to him.

What she didn’t know? The envelope had been outside for nearly three weeks.

Autumn shared that if she hadn’t been able to identify the owner, she planned to donate the money to two patient-support funds at the hospitals where she works — the Legacy Fund at Brigham and Women’s and MGH’s Caring for a Cure, which help patients and families with transportation, food, housing, and special needs during treatment.

When the member was reunited with the envelope days later, he became emotional, expressing heartfelt gratitude for Autumn’s honesty and our team’s efforts.

To honor her integrity, Tremont Credit Union will be donating $500 to each fund in Autumn’s name.

In the spirit of giving, we encourage others to consider supporting these incredible funds — donation links are shared below.
